Our Final Reading

This post features student writing.

Today is our last day of the trip and we spent it in Dublin, finishing up some last-minute shopping and editing our final works for the reading. We started the day with a brunch, enjoying french toast and some incredible hot chocolate. After eating, the group was sent on their separate ways in order to buy more souvenirs or head back to the hostel to practice for our performance later that evening. Honestly, we also spent most of our free time enjoying the last moments we would be together as a group: going through our camera rolls and sharing videos and pictures of each other that still make us smile. Before too long, in the early evening, we found ourselves at the Dublin Writers’ Center. It was such a pleasure to be able to enjoy our friends’ readings. All of them were uniquely creative and inspiring. It was an amazing end to our trip and a great culmination of our hard work. As our last day, it was truly bittersweet to see our time come to a close. Although we could return home and see our families soon, we also created a family and home of our own in Ireland.
