Cloudy Skies and Open Roads

This post features student writing.

Today, the group packed up their bags and hit the road to Inishbofin. In addition to picking up our belongings, we also picked up a new member of our Putney Family, author B.J. Hollars. Welcome, B.J.!

In between the bus rides, often filled with games and karaoke, the groups went shopping. The students were broken up into small groups and assigned a special item and certain foods to get in 40 minutes, ultimately helping us work as a team to get our groceries. Before we reached the west coast, we stopped at the Kylemore Abbey, where the group took photos, explored the Abbey, and had our first workshop with B.J. Hollars.

When we reached the west coast of Ireland, the students took a ferry to the island of Inishbofin, joking and laughing along the way. Many of us were awestruck at the remoteness and beauty of the island as we hiked to our hostel. After dinner at a local cafe, we settled down after a long and exciting trip in the quiet hills of Inishbofin.
